I’m starting today differently. Mainly because I’ve made up my mind to change my financial situation. I want to be free of the 9-5! I want to be the heart of my home while I tackle the finances! I want to be flexible for crying out loud!
Not that I ever wanted to be in this place, but, you know how subtly it creeps in and how easy it is to stay in fearful-mode.
“My job doesn’t pay enough,” “There’s just not enough time in the day,” and to top it off with my all time favorite anthem, “Buy that venti Starbucks Peppermint Mocha, Girl! You deserve it!” And then I’m outta money. Who can relate?
Wow…I can’t be the only one with the Starbucks app draining my bank account. I love my coffee. I just want to be able to afford it when I want to get my fix.
What is financial flexibility?
Financial flexibility is the ability to support yourself and those that depend on you on your terms. You want to have your cake and eat it, too? That’s what this is all about.
Women are coming into a new era very quickly. The gender roles of the past still linger, so we are caught somewhere in between the homemaker and the modern woman. We are carrying the burden of struggling to be both of these women. Let’s make it easier! Let’s contribute to our families from both ends of the spectrum. Let’s acquire the skills to rewrite the standards of womanhood!
What do you want to be when you grow up?!
This is the question. Life can be as flexible as you make it out to be. I’ll be asking myself this question when I’m old! We just have to let go of the fear that restricts us to being stuck. Easier said than done, but definitely possible!
Currently, I teach fifth grade social studies at an amazing school with amazing people.
Can I use a hashtag? Because seriously, y’all #mycoworkersarebetterthanyours. They’re beyond awesome. There is such a feeling of community and belonging there. Major #careergoals…just maybe there’s something else out there.
Okay, I’ll quit with the hashtags! But, let’s face the music, teachers, as well as numerous other careers, are not compensated for their ability, dedication, passion, and hard work appropriately. Can I get an amen?!
And, on top of all of that, I am so worn down at the end of the day. I struggle to give my all to my own family when I get home.
So, aside from my rant, the job is rewarding, but I have found myself searching for what I want out of life.
Questions like, “Where do I want to be in five years?” and “What can I contribute that will bring fulfillment in my legacy?” have been arising. Also, “What do I really want to be when I grow up?” and “What the heck…I’m a grown-up!?”
I have been researching, and I’ve been interested in starting my own blog for profit. Business plans for blogs are right in front of our weary faces. There’s something to it, and I’m on the road to figuring out how to get to that something. Ya feel me?
You deserve financial flexibility!
Financial flexibility. Making the big bucks from Starbucks (or from your couch!). Allowing yourself to be a stay-at-home-wife and -mom. Women, we deserve it! The people that depend on us deserve it.
Maybe, most likely, there are those of you out there who can relate.
But, seriously, there is a struggle raging, and it’s stirred me up so much that I’m ready to make a move!
Now after all of that introduction, I will bring you to my conclusion. I know, I know…I built you up just to bring you back down.
On to the Plan for Financial Flexibility
Here it goes, this is a journey to finding a way to balance. Many facets are involved in this, but for clarity, I want you to join me on my search for legitimate financial flexibility that allows me to fulfill my ultimate calling.
I’m going to do this through blogging.
I will be addressing issues such as finding legitimate work at home jobs, blogging, and lifestyle tips/changes that serve the purpose of fulfilling the goal of monetizing a blog for financial freedom.
Join me on this journey!
